We continued northwards in our last week to the final rally destination at Mussorie.
On the way we stayed in two old forts, the oldest dating back to the 15th century.
Some of the roads were awful and gave the Bentley a bit of a bashing. Bob stood up
to it well though and climbed the windy roads up to Mussorie without complaint. We
concluded at Mussorie as this was where George Everest ended his trek, and lived
for part of his life.
After a celebratory dinner, we had to drive south 300km to India’s capital city of
Delhi. This last day’s drive took us from the cold of the hill station to the heat,
dust and fumes of New Delhi. Bunty and Tossif from the Indian garage that rebuilt
our car met us there and have taken Bob back to Udaipur to have some repairs completed.
We came off fairly lightly with just a couple of smashed lights and a few scratches.
Other cars didn’t fare so well.
